FAISALABAD, Jul 20 (APP):Managing Director (MD) Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Sohail Qadir Cheema has directed all operational staff to further reduce response time for public complaints and maintain full preparedness for rapid drainage operations as additional monsoon spells have been forecast in the coming days.
Chairing a meeting, he said that speedy action and efficient drainage are imperative to provide relief to the citizens during ongoing rainy season. He acknowledged the efforts of operations officers and staff during recent monsoon rains and praised their dedication and responsibility. However, he stressed the need to enhance responsiveness by ensuring that complaints registered by the citizens are addressed without any delay. He directed the field staff to remain high alert to respond promptly to any emerging drainage issues. He also ordered that all disposal stations must remain fully operational at full capacity while dewatering sets and other essential machinery should be kept in active condition.
These directives came in light of meteorological predictions indicating more rain in the near future which is demanding uninterrupted and timely wastewater management across the city, he added. He also highlighted top priority of the agency and said that providing high-quality drainage services to the public is non-negotiable.
He made it clear that negligence or laziness in addressing drainage-related complaints would not be tolerated at any cost.
He directed the WASA officers to speedily address the issues reported through WASA helpline, control room and all other communication platforms to ensure immediate relief for the people.
Director Operations Makhdoom Babar, Farooq Najeeb, Deputy Directors Nauman Noor, Imran Tufail, Zain-ul-Abideen, Assistant Directors and other were also present in the meeting and assured to intensify their readiness as the city braces for further rain activity.
