FAISALABAD, Sep 22 (APP):Faisalabad Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) has intensified its dengue awareness

campaign in educational institutions while Managing Director Engineer Saqib Raza

stressed that sustained public awareness and strict implementation of preventive measures

were imperative to contain the potential rise in dengue mosquito breeding amid changing

weather conditions.

He said the awareness campaign in educational institutions was continuing without

any interruption on the directions of Punjab government and was producing encouraging

results.

As part of the drive, staff of WASA’s Citizen Liaison Cell (CLC) visited Govt Johar Public

High School Allama Iqbal Colony where they delivered an awareness lecture to the students

on dengue prevention and measures to protect themselves from dengue mosquitoes.

The CLC staff also distributed awareness pamphlets among the students, highlighting

precautionary measures to prevent mosquito breeding and reduce the risk of dengue

transmission.

Engineer Saqib Raza said that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued for the

ongoing anti-dengue campaign were being implemented in accordance with the Punjab

government’s directions.

He said that changing weather conditions could lead to an increase in dengue mosquito

breeding, making it necessary for all stakeholders to undertake comprehensive preventive

measures within their respective areas of responsibility.

The WASA Managing Director said that anti-dengue activities were also continuing at

WASA’s head office and other offices, buildings and water tanks while regular monitoring

was being carried out to ensure effective implementation of preventive measures.

However, collective efforts and public cooperation were imperative in eliminating

potential mosquito breeding sites and strengthening the ongoing anti-dengue campaign,

he added.
