WASA disconnects 242 connections over default

MULTAN, Jul 29 (APP): As per directives of the Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), the recovery department has intensified crackdown against defaulters to recover pending dues from the domestic and commercial consumers.
Presiding over a meeting to review performance regarding recovery on Tuesday, Director Recovery Abdul Salam was informed that the teams have disconnected 242 domestic and commercial water and sewerage connections in a single day as part of an ongoing crackdown on bill defaulters. The teams have also recovered pending dues of Rs 3.88 million from defaulters.
The director recovery, directed officers to ensure strict action against defaulters without any discrimination and also identify illegal connections across the city.
The meeting also focused on daily field performance, account-wise recovery progress, and challenges in disconnection efforts. Officers were directed to enforce immediate disconnections for non-payment and submit daily reports.
