CHINIOT, Jan 2 (APP):WASA Chiniot has begun its operations, marking a significant step towards resolving the district’s long-standing drainage problems. On its first day, WASA, in collaboration with Clean Punjab and the Municipal Committee, initiated efforts to clear sewage piles in Ghafoor Abad and other areas.
According to APP correspondent, WASA Chiniot provided immediate relief to residents by clearing blocked streets. Administrator Municipal Committee and Additional Deputy Commissioner General Wasiq Abbas Haral stated that a Rs. 6 billion project has been approved under the Punjab Cities Program to lay sewer lines in the district, aiming to permanently solve drainage issues.
The project will bring a comprehensive sewerage system to settlements, addressing the root cause of the problem.
The establishment of WASA Chiniot is expected to enhance the quality of life for residents by providing better sanitation facilities and reducing the risk of waterborne diseases.
