LAHORE, Mar 03 (APP):The Virtual Women Police Station of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) facilitated the arrest of a suspect involved in harassing a college student in the Sunder area through swift response and coordination on Tuesday.
According to the spokesperson, a female student was allegedly harassed by a man who passed indecent remarks and made inappropriate gestures while she was on her way to college within the limits of Sunder police station. The student raised alarm, prompting local residents to gather at the scene, while the suspect attempted to escape. Citizens immediately alerted the police by calling Emergency Helpline 15.
On receiving the complaint, the Virtual Women Police Station promptly coordinated with the concerned police team, which reached the spot and arrested the suspect. A female Safe City officer also contacted the victim to assure her of full protection, legal assistance and necessary support.
A case has been registered against the accused and further legal proceedings are underway.
