RAWALPINDI, Jul 25 (APP):Spokesperson Rawalpindi Women University (RWU), Saba Kayani, has termed the four-year leadership of the founding Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof Dr Anila Kamal, as a golden era in the university’s history.
Dr Anila transformed the university from a postgraduate college into a modern academic institution.
Under her leadership, RWU witnessed remarkable progress launching 12 MPhil and 10 PhD programs, appointing 97% PhD faculty on merit, initiating international collaborations, and hosting six international conferences.
Major milestones include the establishment of modern labs, a solar-powered campus, digital library, wellness center, daycare, and herbarium in a women university.
The vice chancellor also focused on student empowerment through scholarships, sports, job fairs, and international exposure, ensuring inclusive opportunities for all.
RWU became a member of SAERIA under SCO, signed MoUs with international universities, and laid the foundation for long-term institutional growth.
The spokesperson said that Dr Anila’s s tenure was not just about plans and meetings, but about vision-driven execution that redefined the university’s identity and future.
