Various food points penalised over hygiene violations

MULTAN, Jul 23 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out a crackdown in Mian Channu and Khanewal and made inspections of six food points and imposed heavy fines and got registered case against two business outlet owners over violations.
The operation led to the inspection of six food points, including sweet shops and dairy manufacturing units located along Talamba Road, Lakhanwala Bypass, Mohsinwal, and GT Road. The inspections uncovered serious violations including milk adulteration and counterfeit packaging of sauces.
A PFA team got registered case against two business outlet owners over adulteration in milk and counterfeit packing of sauces.
Two business owners were fined a total of Rs 200,000 for unhygienic practices and poor sanitation, including pest infestations and unclean machinery in a well-known sweet shop.
DG PFA, Mr. Muhammad Asim Javed, emphasized that strict action against those producing or selling substandard and adulterated food was underway across the district.
