LAHORE, Feb 08 (APP): Convener Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional Committee on Food, Shahid Imran, said on Sunday that Uzbekistan president’s recent visit to Pakistan significantly deepened bilateral cooperation across multiple domains of the economy.
In a media statement issued here, he said that both countries enjoy strong historical, cultural and religious ties, which provide a solid foundation for expanding trade, investment and industrial collaboration.
He said, food and agriculture sectors hold immense potential for joint ventures, technology transfer and value-added processing to cater to regional and global markets. Enhanced connectivity including road, rail and air links, will facilitate smooth trade flows and reduce logistic costs.
Shahid Imran said that business-to-business engagements, MoUs and institutional linkages during the visit will open new avenues for exporters, particularly in halal food, grains, fruit and processed items.
He was of the view that sustained political will and private sector involvement can transform Pakistan-Uzbekistan economic relations into a long-term strategic partnership beneficial for both countries.
