LAHORE, Mar 01 (APP):A meeting on Sunday reviewed the ongoing upgradation and beautification plan for the
shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh with a focus on preserving its spiritual sanctity
while enhancing facilities for devotees.
Punjab Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Nabeel Javed chaired the meeting and was
briefed in detail on infrastructure improvements, aesthetic enhancements and arrangements
aimed at facilitating thousands of daily visitors to the historic shrine.
He emphasized that the shrine remains a central symbol of Punjab’s Sufi heritage and spiritual identity,
and directed that all development initiatives be executed with utmost care to maintain its religious
and architectural character.
Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta informed the participants that new calligraphy panels featuring Quranic verses, Hadith and selected poetry were being finalized after comprehensive review to ensure both artistic quality and reverence. He added that beautification measures were being aligned with the shrine’s historical legacy and traditional design.
The meeting was attended by Director General Religious Affairs Auqaf Shahid Kalyani, Khateeb of Data Darbar Maulana Ramzan Sialvi, Principal Jamia Hajveria Muhammad Razaq, Director Madina Foundation Aslam Tareen, NESPAK representative Adil Nazir, Director Projects Auqaf Rafiq Wattoo, calligrapher Irfan Qureshi and other officials.
Participants reiterated that all works would be completed in a phased manner, ensuring that devotional activities continue smoothly while safeguarding the sanctity and heritage of the shrine for future generations.
