University of Wah hosts CPEC training program on ecological sustainability

WAH CANTT, Oct 17 (APP):The University of Wah on Friday organized a short-term training program for faculty and staff under the CPEC Consortium of Universities. The program focused on the theme “CPEC and Ecosystem Restoration,” bringing together experts and researchers from top institutions across Pakistan.
Prof. Dr. Han Likun from Fudan University, Shanghai, delivered a keynote address on China’s traditional ecological philosophy and its emphasis on harmony between humans and nature.
During the session, Dr. Han drew parallels between China’s ecological principles and Pakistan’s own environmental values. He highlighted the potential for bilateral cooperation in green development and environmental conservation under the CPEC framework. The discussion provided a platform for Pakistani and Chinese scholars to explore ways to strengthen sustainability and environmental collaboration.
Over 200 faculty members and researchers from 50 top institutions participated in the hybrid session, including Quaid-i-Azam University, International Islamic University, and COMSATS University. The participants engaged in a fruitful discussion on promoting ecological sustainability and environmental conservation in the context of CPEC.
The program concluded with souvenir presentations and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the training program. Speakers reaffirmed the strong bond between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the need for joint efforts to promote sustainability and environmental collaboration under CPEC.
