HYDERABAD, Nov 12 (APP):The University of Central Punjab, Lahore emerged victorious in the final of the All Pakistan Inter-University Judo (Men) Championship 2025-26, held at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam.
The final witnessed a tough competition, with the University of Lahore securing second place and Islamia University Bahawalpur finishing third. The winners and runner-up teams were awarded trophies and medals.
The SAU spokesperson told that the University of Central Punjab claimed the title with an impressive haul of 5 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. After tough competition, Muhammad Usman won the gold medal in the 50 kg category, Hasnain secured gold in the 55 kg category, Huzaifa clinched gold in the 66 kg category, while Shams bagged gold medals in both the 100-plus and open categories. Meanwhile, Moaz and Hamza earned silver medals in their respective events.
The second position was claimed by University of Punjab, which won 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal, while Islamia University Bahawalpur took third place with 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.
The Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal praised the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for providing universities across Pakistan with ample opportunities to promote sports, enabling students to showcase their talents and earn recognition at the national level.
Director of Sports Anwar Hussain Khanzada also extended gratitude to HEC, the Vice Chancellor and participating university officials for their support in organizing the championship.
