UK-based Pak-Kashmir diaspora community remembers BB on her 18th martyrdom anniversary

MIRPUR, Dec 29 (APP):UK-based Pakistani and Kashmiri expatriates managed a Quran Khwani and prayer ceremony in Dewsbury town to pay tribute and offer prayers for the eternal peace of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was officially stated by the organizers.
The event was arranged by Vice President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) North Zone UK, Chaudhry Kamran Manzoor, and President of the PPP North Zone UK, Chaudhry Zafar Hussain, says a message reaching and released to the media here on Monday.
The ceremony, hosted at a local hotel in Dewsbury, commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Imad, while Chaudhry Zulfiqar Din had the honor of presenting Naat-e-Rasool (PBUH). The event was attended by office-bearers and workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party UK, along with members of various communities and schools of thought. Addressing the gathering, Chaudhry Kamran Manzoor said that the assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto plunged the country into darkness and pushed the nation decades backward.
He described December 27 as the darkest day in Pakistan’s history, when enemies of the state and democracy separated a visionary global leader from her people. Speaking on the occasion, President PPP North Zone UK Chaudhry Zafar Hussain said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto made historic sacrifices for the supremacy of the Constitution, Parliament, and the fundamental rights of the people. He added that December 27 is not only a day of mourning but also a day of renewed commitment, emphasizing that party workers reaffirm their pledge to complete the mission of their great leader, regardless of sacrifices. Other speakers highlighted that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the first woman prime minister of the Muslim world, who firmly believed in democratic values, peaceful politics, and the rule of law.
They said her martyrdom strengthened democracy in Pakistan and that the Pakistan Peoples Party continues to follow the ideology of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, striving at all levels for the resolution of public issues.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the elevation of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s ranks, the stability of democracy in Pakistan, and national unity. Langar was also distributed among the participants.
