UAJK observes Kashmir Solidarity Day with interdepartmental declaration contest

MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 05 (APP):The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) observed Kashmir Solidarity Day with a series of colourful programs, highlighted by an Interdepartmental Declamation Contest titled “Kashmir Solidarity Day and Youth’s Responsibilities”, organized under the auspices of the Directorate of Students Affairs here on Thursday.
Students from various departments participated in the contest with great enthusiasm and presented well-researched and thought-provoking speeches, shedding light on the historic Kashmir liberation struggle and underscoring the critical role of youth in raising awareness, sustaining peaceful advocacy, and supporting the just cause of the Kashmiri people at national and international forums.
The competition was judged by Dr Abdul Kareem Qureshi, Principal of Degree College Ghari Dupatta, and Mr Zafar Iqbal, Director Students’ Financial Aid. At the conclusion of the contest, Mr. Roshaan Asif was declared first, Syeda Konain Zahra secured second position, and Warsha remained third.
Speaking on the occasion, Dean Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Meritorious Professor Dr Syed Nadeem Haider Bukhari, emphasized that a strong, stable, and progressive Pakistan is imperative for effectively supporting the Kashmir cause. He urged the youth to equip themselves with education, intellectual clarity, and moral strength to become responsible ambassadors of the Kashmir issue across the globe.
Addressing the gathering, Director Students Affairs Dr Rehana Kousar appreciated the active participation of students and commended the judges for their valuable evaluation. She thanked all contesting students for their confident expression, intellectual engagement, and commitment to highlighting Kashmir Solidarity Day through constructive dialogue. She reaffirmed UAJK’s resolve to continue organizing academic and co-curricular activities that promote awareness, critical thinking, and national solidarity among students.
The event concluded with renewed commitment to stand in solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to keep their legitimate struggle alive through peaceful, academic, and intellectual means.
