FAISALABAD, Dec 02 (APP): The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Kohsar University Murree (KUM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
According to a UAF spokesman, the MoU was signed by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali and KUM Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rafia Mumtaz on behalf of their respective universities. The agreement aims to develop research and academic linkages in areas of mutual interest and foster a long-term partnership to bridge the gap between the institutions.
Under the MoU, both universities will conduct joint applied and industrial research, train students, mentoring professionals, and top management by providing the right set of professional knowledge and industry practices through joint capacity-building and faculty development programs. The institutions will also collaborate on research and development projects, innovation initiatives, and commercialization efforts. They plan to encourage problem ideation and design thinking among students and faculty to identify projects for joint industrial research, business and market intelligence, and new product development. Additionally, professional trainings, workshops, and seminars will be arranged jointly by faculty from both universities.
UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali said the partnership is expected to bring tangible results and highlighted UAF’s ongoing collaborations with various national and international organizations. He also noted that UAF is ranked 34th globally in the subject of agriculture and forestry, according to QS rankings.
Dr. Rafia Mumtaz stated that through innovative programs, cutting-edge research, and meaningful collaborations, the university is equipping students with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in a global knowledge economy.
The MoU signing ceremony was also attended by Director Research Prof. Dr. Zahid Abbas, Dr. Zubair Aslam, and other officials.
