BAHAWALNAGAR , Mar 2 (APP):Two brave sons of the soil from Bahawalnagar district embraced martyrdom during Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq have been laid to rest in their native villages amid moving scenes and full military honours.
Havaldar Muhammad Bakhsh Wattoo, a resident of Watowan Wali Basti near Jhok Qasimka Adda Amin Kot, and soldier Shahid Hussain of Chak No. 133 Murad, sacrificed their lives in the line of duty while serving in the Pakistan Army.
Their funeral prayers were offered separately in their respective ancestral areas, drawing large crowds of mourners. The senior army officers, local dignitaries and a large number of residents attended the funerals to pay their last respects to the fallen heroes.
The emotional scenes were witnessed as the air reverberated with chants of “Allahu Akbar” and “Pakistan Zindabad,” reflecting the profound respect and pride felt by the community.
Following the funeral prayers, the coffins draped in the national flag were carried to their ancestral graveyards. Smartly turned-out contingents of the Pakistan Army presented a guard of honour and offered a ceremonial salute before the martyrs were laid to rest with full state and military honours.
The floral wreaths were laid at their graves.
Havaldar Muhammad Bakhsh Wattoo is survived by his widow and five children, while Shahid Hussain leaves behind his widow and two children.
