KARACHI, Jul 17 (APP):Tragedy struck in Karachi’s Lyari area when the roof of a residential building collapsed near Khadda Market on Thursday.
The incident occurred at Ghani Mansion, a six-storey building located adjacent to Bilal Masjid and Peshawari Hotel, where the sixth floor gave way and fell onto the fifth floor.
Police and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and launched relief efforts. So far, two women have been confirmed dead while three others, including children, sustained injuries. The deceased were sisters, and the injured are their daughters who are currently receiving medical treatment at Civil Hospital.
DIGP South Syed Asad Raza also visited the site to oversee the ongoing rescue and investigation efforts.
