Two SHOs, ASI, lady constable suspended

BUREWALA, Jul 22 (APP):District Police Officer (DPO) Vehari, Muhammad Afzal, took strict action following multiple complaints of corruption against police personnel, resulting in the suspension of two Station House Officers (SHOs), one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), and a lady constable.
According to police, SHO Tibba Sultanpur Iftikhar Larka and Lady Constable Sakina Abdullah were suspended for misconduct, corruption, and abuse of authority. Similarly, SHO Garha Mor Irfan Ashraf and ASI Tabassum Ghafar were suspended and directed to report to Police Lines following corruption allegations.
DPO Afzal reiterated the department’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption and abuse of power, stating that there is no place in the force for those involved in such practices.
Furthermore, an FIR has been registered at Police Station Daniwal against four individuals involved in the Tibba Sultanpur corruption case, including SHO Iftikhar Larka, ASI Rizwan Ahmed, Lady Constable Sakina Bibi, and a civilian, Abdul Wahab.
The FIR was filed after the allegations were substantiated through an internal inquiry. The officials had reportedly extorted over Rs. 2.1 million to protect an accused in a case. All implicated personnel were already suspended prior to the registration of the case.
