RAWALPINDI, Aug 28 (APP):The criminals involved in a gang rape case have been sentenced to life imprisonment along with financial penalties. The case was registered in January this year nominating two culprits for rapping a 15 year old girl in Rawalpindi Cantt area.
According to the details, Haseeb and Sajawal, who were immediately arrested by the police, had confessed the crime during police interrogation. The duo have also been imposed the fine of Rs. 500,000.0 each, along with compensation fine of Rs. 500,000.0 each.
The assault occurred in January 2025, when the victim, from a vulnerable low-income family, was allegedly abducted and rapped by the two accused. The FIR detailed the abduction, sexual assault and threats to the victim to silence.
The court verdict reflects strong and consistent prosecution by the police which led to the sentencing of the criminals.
CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani has lauded the police teams for their dedicated performance during investigation and the prosecution. He reiterated that police would protect the citizens with total commitment.
