LAHORE, Dec 14 (APP):Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) foiled an attempt to travel abroad through forged documents and offloaded two passengers at Allama Iqbal International Airport, here on Sunday.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the action was carried out by FIA Immigration during routine checks.
The passengers, identified as Minza Shehzadi and Hasnain Khalid, were travelling to Portugal on flight TK-745.
The spokesperson said both passengers belonged to Gujranwala and were found carrying fake Portuguese study visas affixed to their passports. Preliminary investigation revealed that the forged visas were obtained from an agent identified as Iqbal.
The passengers reportedly paid Rs 3.5 million each to acquire the fake study visas. Following their offloading, the passengers were handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Lahore, for further legal action, the spokesperson added.
