PESHAWAR, Oct 22 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two suspects involved in illegal money transfer (hawala-hundi) and recovered millions of rupees during a successful raid in Battagram on Wednesday.
Acting on the directives of the FIA Director General, the Composite Circle Abbottabad conducted the operation in Battagram.
According to FIA official, the arrested suspects have been identified as Babar Hussain and Inamullah. The operation led to the recovery of Rs. 3.195 million, several mobile phones and evidence related to hawala-hundi activities. A vehicle allegedly used for money transfers was also seized.
The suspects failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the recovered currency. Further investigation has been initiated, while FIA teams are conducting additional raids to arrest other members of the network.
