Two hotels penalised for hygiene violations

MULTAN, Nov 06 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) intensified its campaign to ensure provision of hygienic and quality food and imposed Rs. 150,000 fine on two renowned hotels over violations in Mian Channu.
Acting on the directions of the Director General Punjab Food Authority, a special operation was carried out in Mian Channu under the supervision of Director Operations South, Zubair Ahmad Ijaz.
During the inspection drive, the PFA teams visited several food points including hotels, restaurants, sweet shops, and fast-food outlets located in Mian Channu City, Kacha Khoh Highway, and 15-Wala Phatak GT Road.
According to details, two well-known hotels were fined Rs. 75,000 each for serious hygiene violations. The teams discovered the use of substandard ingredients in food preparation and the presence of insect-infested milk in freezers. Additionally, expired and leftover food items were found stored in unhygienic conditions, and kitchen cleanliness was found to be below the required standards.
Moreover, a sweet shop and a pizza outlet were issued warning notices over poor sanitation arrangements and advised to improve hygiene within a stipulated period.
Director Operations South, Zubair Ahmad Ijaz, stated that ensuring the supply of safe and healthy food to citizens was top priority.
 He reiterated that strict action will continue against all those compromising food safety standards.
