PESHAWAR, Jul 23 (APP):In a step toward lasting peace, the tribes of Lower Kurram and Sadda have formally announced a one-year ceasefire, termed “Aman Tegha,” during a grand tribal jirga held at the FC Fort in Sadda.
The gathering was attended by elders of the Turi and Bangash tribes, alongside officials from the district administration and security forces.
Kurram Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Khan stated that the tribes unanimously agreed to fully implement the terms of the Murree Agreement and its Kohat renewal throughout the ceasefire period.
Elders hailed the decision as a milestone for regional stability, acknowledging the sacrifices of security forces, police, and local communities in restoring peace.
The DC affirmed that further measures will be taken to consolidate peace, with all stakeholders engaged to ensure complete tranquility in Kurram.
