LARKANA, Jul 18 (APP):In Larkana, a rally was taken out from the city’s Trauma Center to the Shah Nawaz Bhutto Library under the directives of the Managing Director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) and the Director of Environment, as part of the tree plantation campaign on Friday.
The rally saw large-scale participation, including Larkana Municipal Corporation Mayor Anwar Ali Luhur, AC Raja Khan Qureshi, SSWMB Deputy Director Gul Muhammad Sheikh, Assistant Directors Abdul Waseem, Javed Ahmed Durrani, Sadaqat Junejo, Iftikhar Ali Narejo, Darya Khan Jalbani, and others.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, they emphasized that eco-friendly trees are greatly needed in our society. They stressed the importance of planting as many trees as possible within the city to make Larkana greener. They also urged citizens to play their part in this noble cause by planting environmentally friendly plants in their respective areas.
They highlighted that tree plantation is crucial to combat climate change and reduce environmental pollution. Additionally, increasing greenery can help mitigate extreme heat. They called on every citizen to actively participate in the tree plantation drive so that, together, they can tackle climatic challenges.Meanwhile, the SSWMB also planted eco-friendly trees in various parts of the city.
