Tree plantation drive launched in Mirpur khas

MIRPURKHAS, Jul 21 (APP):A ceremony was held at the Commissioner’s Office in Mirpurkhas to distribute 10,000 trees in the first phase of a massive plantation drive titled “Hara Bhara” Mirpurkhas Division.
According to APP correspondent, the event is aimed to promote greenery and mitigate the effects of climate change and environmental pollution.
Chairman District Council Mir Anwar Ali Khan Talpur emphasized the importance of tree plantation, stating that it is a good deed that can reduce the harmful effects of climate change and environmental pollution.
Divisional Commissioner Faisal Ahmed Uqaili led the initiative, partnering with Faraz Green Pakistan to distribute 100,000 saplings across the division. In the first phase, 10,000 saplings were distributed based on applications received through Google Form.
The Commissioner highlighted that monitoring of these saplings would be done through Google coordinates to ensure their growth.
The Commissioner assured that the divisional administration would take action against those involved in tree felling, appreciating media support in highlighting such incidents.
Citizens, journalists, and concerned officers also joined the event, showcasing collective efforts to promote environmental sustainability.
