CHINIOT, Oct 28 (APP):Chiniot traffic police have launched a crackdown on traffic violators on Tuesday, issuing fines worth over Rs 3 lakh in the last 24 hours.
According to APP correspondent, 369 vehicles were challaned for violating traffic rules, these were under the supervision of DSP Traffic Khurram Shahzad.
A total of 34 challans were issued for overloading, while 23 challans were issued for negligence. Additionally, 7 underage drivers and 6 motorcycle riders without helmets were penalized. The police also took action against 77 vehicles for violating other traffic rules.
The traffic police are not only enforcing traffic rules but also conducting an awareness campaign to educate citizens about road safety. The Traffic Education Unit is visiting educational institutions to teach students about traffic rules and promote safe driving practices.
District Police Officer (DPO) Abdullah Ahmed emphasized the importance of following traffic rules to avoid accidents. He encouraged citizens to obtain driving licenses, which are being prepared under a special campaign for disabled individuals.
