FAISALABAD, Oct 16 (APP):Controller Department of Tourist Services, Shumaila Manzoor, visited the city on Thursday and held a meeting with officers and officials of the Punjab Tourism Squad at the Commissioner’s Office.
During the meeting, she reviewed the squad’s performance, inquired about the challenges faced by the officers, and issued instructions for improving efficiency and addressing operational difficulties.
Speaking to the media, Shumaila Manzoor announced the formal launch of an online portal designed to facilitate hotel, restaurant, travel, and tour operators. Through the new system, businesses can now obtain licences online from home, simplifying the registration process.
She further said that all hotels and guesthouses in Punjab are being registered through the “Hotel Eye” software, adding that legal action will be taken against those who fail to register under the system.
She stressed that registration has also been made mandatory for entities using international online booking platforms, a step aimed at curbing crime and illegal activities.
Highlighting the safety aspect, she said that both domestic and foreign guests staying in hotels and guesthouses across Punjab will now have their data recorded in the Hotel Eye system. Owners of private guesthouses will be required to upload guest information through their login credentials, enabling digital verification of visitors and helping law enforcement prevent unlawful practices.
