Top officials review security arrangements for Muharram processions in Attock

ATTOCK, Jul 15 (APP):The Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak, and the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited Attock on Monday to oversee the security arrangements for the Muharram 8 procession and other religious gatherings in the district.
According to the Commissioner’s Office, during the visit, the officials held meetings with the organizers of the processions and discussed the security measures put in place by the district administration.
They were accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Attock, Rao Atif Raza as well as other senior officials from the revenue and law enforcement departments.
The central procession of Alam (religious flags) and Zuljanah (symbolic horse) on the 8th of Muharram commenced on time from the Imambargah Panjtani and culminated at the Imambargah Hussainia in Attock Cantonment, passing through its designated routes.
Hundreds of mourners participated in the procession to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA).
The top officials reviewed the security arrangements to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram processions and Majalis (religious gatherings) throughout the holy month in Attock.
They took feedback from the organizers and coordinated with the law enforcement agencies to elaborate the foolproof security measures for the upcoming events.
