RAWALPINDI, Jun 26 (APP):A most wanted accused of the three years old rape-cum- murder case of a 9 year old child was killed in a shootout with police in the Wah Cantt area.
According to the Rawalpindi Police spokesman, the accused, along with his accomplice, opened fire on a Wah Cantt Police team.
The accused, identified as Rizwan Khan alias Budha was killed in the retaliatory fire by the police while his accomplice escaped while firing.
The spokesman said the accused Budha was wanted in the rape and murder case of a 9-year-old child 3 years ago. The child with his brother had left their house in the Wah Cantt area and later his body was found in the fields.
According to the post-mortem report and forensic evidence, the child was murdered after being raped.
The spokesman said the child’s blind murder remained a mystery and the arrest of the accused involved was a challenge for the Rawalpindi Police.
The Rawalpindi Police had been continuously investigating the case for the last 3 years and found solid evidence that the accused Budha had killed the child after committing abuse.
Many special teams were working on the case to arrest the accused.
Senior police officers reached the spot on information about the incident. Meanwhile, a search was on to arrest the absconding accused.
City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani appreciated the station house officer of Wah Cantt Police Station and his team for bravely fighting the accused despite their firing and then getting the main accused of child murder case killed.
