Three day training workshop on Social, Behaviour Change held in Peshawar varsity

PESHAWAR, Nov 13 (APP): University of Peshawar Student Societies, in collaboration with UNICEF, organized a three-day training workshop on Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) for students in Batch 2 and 3 of the SBC Volunteer Task Force.
The speakers for the training workshop included Sohail Khan, SBC Officer, UNICEF;  Abbas Khan, Consultant, UNICEF; Naeem Bahadur, Resource Person, UNICEF; Dr. Basharat Hussain, Chairman, Department of Criminology, University of Peshawar, and Dr. Muhammad Ibrar, Assistant Professor, Department of Criminology and Deputy Director, Student Societies, University of Peshawar.
The workshop was aimed at providing students with in-depth knowledge and practical tools for fostering positive social change in their communities.
Over the course of three days, participants explored key themes such as SBC and Communication, Social Sciences and Human Rights, Social Media and Youth Engagement, and the development of Social Action Projects.
The sessions went beyond traditional lectures, incorporating group work, discussions, and presentations, which allowed students to actively engage with the material and collaborate with their peers.
This hands-on approach not only enhanced learning but also fostered teamwork and critical thinking among participants. Moreover, the lessons learnt during three-day workshop will be implemented in their respective communities through the
Social Action Project (SAP) providing hands-on experience to the students.
The training workshop exemplified the commitment of the University of Peshawar to empower students to become agents of change in their communities. It highlighted the ongoing partnership between the University and UNICEF in promoting sustainable development through education and volunteerism.
