RAWALPINDI, Oct 30 (APP):The Chakri Police have arrested the third member of a cattle theft gang on the pointation of two accomplices earlier apprehended by the Saddar Beruni Police.
According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesman on Thursday, the suspects held by the Bairooni Police had confessed during investigation to stealing cattle from different areas, including the jurisdiction of the Chakri Police Station. Acting on their disclosure, the Chakri Police arrested their third associate and recovered Rs 400,000, said to be the sale proceeds of stolen cattle.
Earlier, the Saddar Beruni Police had recovered ten stolen cattle worth over Rs 2.5 million from the two suspects.
Superintendent of Police Saddar Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar said that the arrested suspects would be presented before the court with concrete evidence to ensure their conviction.
The SP reaffirmed that the Rawalpindi Police were committed to eradicating cattle theft and ensuring the protection of citizens’ property.
The spokesman added that the arrested gang members had been involved in several cattle theft incidents.
