RAWALPINDI, Jan 29 (APP):The Taxila Police have seized five kilograms of ice during an operation against drug trafficking and arrested a suspect, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Thursday.
The accused was intercepted during routine checking and searched on suspicion, leading to the recovery of the narcotics from his possession. A case was registered against him.
During initial questioning, the suspect disclosed that he had been supplying drugs to various parts of the city, including educational institutions, the spokesman said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said the police were taking all possible measures to eradicate the scourge of narcotics from society. He reiterated that operations against drug dealers would continue without discrimination.
He added that protecting young people from drug abuse remained a top priority of the police.
