Tank Police foil drug smuggling bid, recover 24 kg hashish

TANK, Oct 24 (APP):The Tank Police on Tuesday foiled a drug smuggling bid and recovered 24-kilogram hashish from a car here in the limits of Shaheed Mureed Akbar (SMA) Police station.

According to a police spokesman, the Tank Police were pursuing zero-tolerance policy against the menace of drugs following the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Iftikhar Ali Shah.

He said a police team led by SMA police station SHO Abdul Alee Khan, taking action on a tip-off, stopped a car bearing registration number (AVC-956) near Bultinabad area for checking.

During the checking, the police recovered 20 packets of hashish weighing 1200 gram each from the secret cavities in the car.

The police registered a case and arrested car driver named Niyaz Wali Khan son of Ali Gul Khan.

Meanwhile, a team of City Police Station led by SHO Mehtab Khan arrested drug dealer Atta ur Rehman son of Ameer Khan during routine patrolling. The police also recovered 700 grams of hashish from him.
