PESHAWAR, Nov 02 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and Middle East and Chairman Pakistan Ulma Council, Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi here Tuesday said that keeping in view changing of global perspective, talks with Taliban government is necessary to establish peace in the region.
He said this while addressing conference held here in memory of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, former Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and head of Defense of Pakistan.
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that stability in the region is essential for establishment of the peace and progress of both countries. He said nefarious designs of anti state elements trying to create chaos by promoting sectarianism in Pakistan would never be fulfilled.
Ashrafi paid glowing tribute to the services rendered by Maulana Sami-ul-Haq and said that he proud of 35 years of association with Maulana Sami-ul-Haq.
He said that Maulana played an active role in protecting interests of the country by serving as Chairman of the Difa-e-Pakistan Council. He praised the participation of Samiul Haq in the Khatm-e-Nabuwat Movement and said that Maulana Samiul Haq always struggled for Muslim unity.
He said it was due to his efforts that Darul Uloom Haqqania at Akora Khattak produced hundreds of religious scholars. PM’s Aide said that resolution tabled by Pakistan was unanimously endorsed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers to enact legislation on blasphemy at the United Nations.
Recalling the relationships between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, he said that both the countries are on the same page. We stand with the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia for the security and stability of their country.
The conference was attended by large number of ulema and seminaries students. Mufti Taqi Usmani, Siraj-ul-Haq, Maulana Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianvi, Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani and Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq also addressed the conference.
