Suthra Punjab teams step up cleanup, drainage operations
RAWALPINDI, Sep 15 (APP):The field teams of Suthra Punjab remained fully mobilised across Rawalpindi after rainfall lashed the city, taking prompt measures to ensure cleanliness and smooth drainage.
Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi and Chief Executive Officer Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) Rana Sajid Safdar visited various areas of the city to inspect sanitation and drainage arrangements during the downpour.
On his directives, sanitation workers continued operations in low-lying areas, along major roads, markets and other key locations.
Teams worked to remove blockages from drains and nullahs, carried out desilting and promptly lifted accumulated waste to prevent any obstruction to the flow of rainwater.
Rana Sajid Safdar directed field teams to ensure immediate relief to citizens during the rainfall and take swift action on complaints related to drainage and sanitation.
“Providing relief to citizens is our top priority. All field teams are continuously monitoring the situation,” he said.
He added that relevant departments were working in coordination and cooperation to minimise the impact of rainfall and provide maximum relief and convenience to residents.
Suthra Punjab teams will remain fully alert in the field until the situation returns to normal, while sanitation and drainage operations will continue without interruption.
