SARGODHA, Oct 29 (APP):Police on Wednesday arrested a suspect after a shootout, in the limits of Sahiwal police station.
A spokesman for the DPO office said that some suspects broke through
a police checkpoint and opened fire on the police in an attempt to flee.
The police chased the suspects, who continued firing while taking cover
in nearby fields.
When the firing stopped, the police launched a search operation and
found an accused, identified as Ahmed, injured.
Police said the accused was wounded by firing of his own accomplices
during the shootout.
The accused Ahmed was wanted by Sahiwal Police in connection with
a rape case.
Police launched a search operation to apprehend his accomplices
who managed to escape.
