SUKKUR, Aug 13 (APP):The people of Sukkur and surrounding regions in northern Sindh are gearing up to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day with vibrant enthusiasm on Wednesday.
The city of Sukkur is adorned with colorful banners showcasing various slogans and heartfelt wishes from Mayor Arslan Shaikh, reflecting the spirit of this significant occasion. In a special celebratory move, the Sukkur Municipal Corporation (SMC), in collaboration with the district administration, has organized a fireworks display at the Walking Track Ground, promising to light up the night sky in celebration.
The festive atmosphere extends beyond Sukkur, with residents of Khairpur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and Kashmore-Kandhkot also preparing to join in the jubilations. Various political and religious parties are organizing numerous events leading up to Independence Day, fostering a sense of community and patriotism across the region.
In a demonstration of national pride, large stalls featuring the national flag and an array of festive items have emerged along roads, highways, and in local markets, inviting residents to partake in the celebrations.
Trade unions, political factions, and religious organizations are arranging a series of gatherings in towns throughout Sindh, with main roads being embellished with national flags and patriotic slogans alongside images of revered national leaders.
As the day approaches, the collective anticipation for Jashn-e-Azadi is palpable, uniting the people of Sindh in a shared celebration of freedom and national pride.
