LAHORE, Oct 06 (APP):Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering, Barrister Sultan Tariq Bajwa, has stated that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s people-friendly project, the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ program, is positively transforming lives across the province.
Speaking to the media, Barrister Bajwa said the initiative has become a symbol of dignified living, with an increasing number of families benefiting from it in both urban and rural areas. He revealed that during September alone, 13,163 families received the first installment of interest-free loans for house construction, while 10,202 families were granted the second installment.
He further added that in the same month, 7,474 families successfully completed building their homes. Since the program’s inception, loans have been disbursed to 86,906 families across Punjab, with 54,754 families receiving the second installment and 19,151 families completing their houses. Currently, 76,883 families are actively engaged in construction.
To date, a remarkable Rs. 104 billion has been invested in housing construction, underscoring the government’s strong commitment to improving public welfare and providing affordable housing solutions for citizens.
