MULTAN, Feb 19 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority successfully intercepted and disposed of a large quantity of substandard milk in Multan.
According to the authority’s spokesperson here on Thursday, a food safety team led by Additional Director Operations Amir Iftikhar set up a checkpoint on Bosan Road, where action was taken against a milk supplier transporting adulterated milk.During inspection, 500 liters of contaminated milk was discarded.
Laboratory testing confirmed the presence of water adulteration, along with reduced fat content and diminished natural nutritional value.
Officials stated that the supplier was issued strict improvement instructions and warned to comply with food safety standards.
