Sub-inspector arrested for bribe

Sargodha, Jul 22 (APP):The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Sargodha on Tuesday arrested a sub-inspector for bribe and tampering with weapons.
According to an ACE spokesperson here, the accused, Fakhar Zaman Cheema, was found to have demanded and accepted bribes worth Rs 97,000 and tampered with a 12-bore gun and a 30-bore pistol.
ACE Deputy Director Investigation Farukh Sohail Sindhu said that the sub-inspector allegedly demanded and accepted bribes worth Rs 85,000 for investigation purposes and Rs 12,000 for closing a case.
The team conducted an inquiry and found the allegations true. The accused failed to prove his innocence.
He said that two cases have been registered against the accused, and he has been taken into custody.
The ACE Sargodha, under the supervision of Director General Sohail Zafar Chatha and Regional Director Mudassir Hanif Bhatti, is intensifying its efforts to curb corruption in the division.
