SU to commence first semester exams from May 19, summer vacations scheduled from June 16

HYDERABAD, May 06 (APP):The University of Sindh, Jamshoro has announced that first semester examinations will begin from May 19, 2025.
Meanwhile, the summer vacations will commence from June 16 and continue until August 10, with academic activities set to resume on August 11.
According to the SU spokesperson, these decisions were unanimously taken during a high-level meeting held at the Senate Hall on Tuesday.
The session was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman Khoumbati and attended by Pro-Vice Chancellors (PVCs), Deans of various Faculties and Heads of Departments.
The house approved the schedule for first semester examinations to be conducted at the University of Sindh Jamshoro and all its campuses from May 19. Exam timings were fixed from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for morning shift students and from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm for evening shift students.
Addressing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Khoumbati emphasized the university’s commitment to student welfare and academic discipline. He announced that 800 deserving students would be awarded scholarships this year on a need-cum-merit basis and the interview process for eligible applicants would begin from Wednesday.
“We are dedicated to providing all basic facilities to our students, including free internet services for those residing in the hostels,” he said.
Expressing concern over delays in the submission of results for the second semester exams held in December 2024, the Vice-Chancellor issued a final deadline of May 11 for faculty members to submit pending results.
Dr. Khoumbati also directed the concerned officials to establish contact with newly established universities across Sindh to offer them software services and other technological facilities on a service-charge basis as requested by the VCs of these varsities.
PVC Main Campus Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah, PVC Thatta Campus Dr. Misbah Bibi Qureshi and the Registrar Professor Dr Mushtaque Ali Jariko were also present on the occasion.
