SU students orchestrate field visit to beverage factory

HYDERABAD, Sep 12 (APP):The Institute of Microbiology, University of Sindh, Jamshoro Tuesday orchestrated a field visit of the students in order to provide them with first-hand information about the working pattern in the industries.
According to a university spokesman, the delegation of final-year students pursuing their BS in Industrial Microbiology, accompanied by their mentors Dr. Faryal Ahmed and Dr. Nimerta Kumari visited the factory of a well-reputed beverage company in Hyderabad.
This educational undertaking was seamlessly integrated into their BS final year curriculum, specifically within the ambit of Fermentation Biotechnology. The primary aim of this pedagogical expedition was to delve into the practical applications of industrial microbiology within the multifaceted domains of manufacturing processes and the intricate labyrinth of quality control techniques that underpin the operations at the factory.
The Quality Assurance Manager Muhammad Ayoob Malik and his other colleagues including Deputy Manager of Quality Control Sohaib Zafar and Executive Microbiologist Waqas Mansoor briefed the students about the factory’s operations.
During the visit, the students also witnessed operations encompassing water treatment, beverage bottle preparation, sterilization, filling, capping, pasteurization and the intricacies of the carbonation process.
