HYDERABAD, Jul 09 (APP):The Advanced Studies and Research Board, University of Sindh has approved grant of PhD, M. Phil/MS degrees to 106 candidates in the faculties of Natural Science, Islamic Studies, Pharmacy, Social Science, Education and Arts here on Wednesday.
According to the SU spokesman, the 155th board meeting chaired by vice-chancellor Professor Dr Kalil-ur-Reman Khoumbati after considering various reports pertaining to thesis and scientific works approved the award of 40 PhD and 66 M. Phil/MS degrees.
Addressing the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman Khoumbati said that the ASRB meetings will be held after every two months, while the scrutiny committee meetings will be convened every month in order to send the cases to the board for further process. He said that new admissions to M.Phil/ MS and PhD programs will be announced from next week.
It may be noted that the Institute of Gender Studies succeeded to award PhD degrees to its two scholars for the first time, and both the scholars were supervised by the ex-director of the institute Professor Dr Misbah Bibi Qureshi, currently working as Pro-Vice Chancellor.
