LAHORE, Jul 03 (APP):Punjab Health Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that individuals spreading sectarian hatred and mischief on social media are being dealt with an iron hand.
He made these remarks during his visit to the Control Room of the Home Department on Thursday, where he reviewed the live monitoring of Muharram processions and gatherings across Punjab.
Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that over 37,000 Majalis and around 10,000 processions are being held in the province, all of which are being monitored through a comprehensive camera system and geo-tagged maps. He contacted control rooms across the province individually and obtained updates on the security situation.

He emphasized that the Cyber Patrol Cell of the Home Department is actively cracking down on elements promoting sectarianism online. “The social media accounts of those involved in spreading hateful content are being blocked and arrests are underway,” he said, adding that no leniency would be shown to miscreants.
He directed full implementation of the guidelines and regulations issued by the Home Department.
