SIALKOT, Jan 09 (APP):The district council and tehsil administration Daska claimed on Thursday to have demolished shops and stalls encroached upon at Fawara Chowk Daska and also retrieved 1632 square feet state land from squatters.
The action was taken on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Muhammad Zulqarnain Langrial.
Assistant Commissioner Daska Mahim Mushtaq said that a comprehensive campaign had been launched against temporary and permanent encroachments in Daska.
The district administration also retrieved 50 Marla state land from squatters within the limits of Daska Municipal Committee.
During the ongoing operation against encroachments at Wazirabad Road, dozens of shops illegally constructed on the sides of road in Adda Sahuwala were demolished and the road was cleared.
The operation will continue till the complete elimination of encroachments at Wazirabad Road.
He said that shopkeepers and encroachments should remove their encroachments on their own, otherwise strict action with fines would be taken on them.
