QUETTA, Jul 10 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday said that improving health and education were among the priorities of the incumbent provincial government.
In his message on the occasion of World Population Day, he said that unless health was taken seriously, the dream of development could not be realized.
He said that to prevent maternal and newborn deaths, it was necessary to take concrete steps to revolutionize the health sector by improving delivery of maternal and child health services in Balochistan.
The CM described that reproductive health and family planning would play a fundamental role in reducing maternal and child mortality and improving the overall health status of people.
For which sufficient funds have been allocated in the budget for the health sector and family planning, he said.
He said that On World Population Day, Government of Balochistan renew its commitment to focus on Reproductive Health and Family Planning which were important components of overall health and well-being of individuals, families and societies.
Bugti said that through effective reproductive health and family planning initiatives, individuals could exercise their rights,
reproductive health services would extend beyond family planning.
This includes maternity care, safe birth, postnatal care, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and includes infertility prevention and management and reproductive health education, he noted.
He explained that access to these services was essential to ensure the overall health and well-being of individuals, particularly women and adolescents.
Quality reproductive health services and a standard health care system can help individuals meet the specific needs and challenges they face during their reproductive lives, he said adding that thus would enable them to play their role in the overall development of the province and the country.
The chief minister said that the government reiterated its commitment to work together with partners for the good health and welfare of the people of Balochistan province, our commitment was a healthy Balochistan.
