KARACHI, Jan 27 (APP):The 10 years’ celebration of Telecommunication In-House Competition and Exhibition (TICE) was successfully held in collaboration with the Department of Computer Network and Security, and the Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology.
The event highlighted a variety of innovative projects developed by students, with Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan inaugurating the exhibition.
Notable attendees included Registrar Erum Akbar Ali Khan, Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir, General Secretary of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association Dr. Jafar Nazir Usmani, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Moeed Khan, and several other esteemed faculty members.
The competition attracted around 500 students, who showcased over 170 unique and creative projects across four categories: Beginners, Innovators, Initiators, and Creators. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the top three projects in each category, reflecting the students’ hard work and dedication.
Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan emphasized that such events demonstrate Sir Syed University’s commitment to practical education, innovation, and research, preparing students to become capable engineers. He noted that TICE offers valuable learning experiences and showcases the university’s academic achievements.
Erum Akbar Ali Khan, Chairperson of the Zakir Ali Khan Foundation, commended the students’ efforts and suggested that proper marketing of their projects could enhance their commercial viability, motivating students and elevating the university’s reputation.
Dean FoECE, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir described the event as a memorable celebration of the Aligarh spirit, emphasizing that the competition can drive technological advancements as companies invest in new infrastructure and services.
Director IT, Dr. Abdul Moeed Khan said that in today’s fast-paced world, it is essential to be smart rather than solely
relying on genius.
The successful organization of this event was led by Engineer Muhammad Faizan Saleem, with significant contributions from dedicated volunteers and TICE President Abdullah Shah, whose efforts were vital to the event’s success.
