FAISALABAD, Nov 23 (APP):Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Nasir Mehmood Bajwa on Sunday inspected security arrangements at A-category and B-category polling stations in PP-116 and PP-115, emphasizing strict vigilance and coordinated policing to ensure peaceful by-elections.
He reviewed deployment strength, access controls and response readiness at the visited stations.
He directed the police officers to pay special attention to the security environment inside and around polling stations and remain fully alert during duty hours.
He said that all security personnel must perform their responsibilities professionally, keeping security and smooth polling operations as their guiding priorities.
He directed the security staff to maintain strong coordination with other departments and ensure complete implementation of security SOPs. Any emergency situationmust be reported immediately to senior officers for prompt action, he added.
Protection of citizens’ lives and property was the priority of police during by-elections, therefore, negligence or laxity in election duty would not be tolerated under any
circumstances, SSP Bajwa added.
SP Iqbal Division Saeed Ahmed, DSP Factory Area Circle Usman Warraich and other senior officers were also present on the occasion and they briefed the SSP Operations about security layers, monitoring teams and overall plan to maintain order throughout the polling day.
