ISLAMABAD, Feb 18 (APP):Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza chaired an important meeting to review crime prevention measures and security arrangements for the holy month of Ramazan.
An official told APP on Wednesday that the meeting was attended by zonal SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs. He said a detailed review of the overall law and order situation, security deployment, and crime control strategy was conducted.
SSP Qazi directed concerned officers to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property at all costs and to continue indiscriminate action against criminal elements.
He said strict crackdowns were ordered against land grabbers, illegal weapons holders, and drug peddlers. He said officers were instructed to accelerate operations against active gangs, proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, and groups involved in motorcycle and car theft.
Qazi said a zero-tolerance policy was reiterated against kite selling and flying, while tenant registration was also emphasized. He said effective action was ordered against professional beggars and their facilitators.
He said special security arrangements have been made for Ramazan, including the installation of walk-through gates at mosques and deployment of additional personnel.
SSP Qazi said foolproof security was directed during Iftar and Taraweeh hours, while patrolling and checking mechanisms were ordered to be further strengthened. He said officers were instructed to ensure field presence, particularly during prayer timings.
