ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP):Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Islamabad Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt chaired an important meeting to review the investigation of narcotics cases across the district.
A police spokesperson told APP on Wednesday that investigation officers from all zones attended the meeting, which also included a performance review of the newly established Narcotics Investigation Unit.
To enhance professional capacity, Justice (Retd) Naseeruddin Nair delivered a special lecture highlighting common shortcomings in narcotics investigations and outlining practical legal methods to strengthen evidence and improve case outcomes.
During the meeting, the SSP Butt directed officers to ensure merit, transparency and strict adherence to legal requirements in all narcotics cases so offenders can be convicted through strong, court-worthy evidence.
He stressed that effective investigations are essential for successful anti-narcotics operations and for curbing the drug menace in the federal capital.
