SUKKUR, Jul 14 (APP):The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), in collaboration with Revive Environment on has distributed 200 improved cookstoves (ICS) in Thatta and Mirpurkhas districts of Sindh, said a release issued here on Monday.
This initiative aims to introduce eco-friendly cooking solutions to rural communities, promoting sustainable living and cleaner energy use.
The distribution was carried out in two districts, with 100 stoves handed over in Union Council Banbhore in Thatta and 100 stoves distributed in Union Council Khuda Bux-2 in Mirpurkhas.
The improved cookstoves are designed to consume less fuel, produce less smoke, and cook food more efficiently. Local households, particularly women, have welcomed the initiative, acknowledging that it will save time spent on collecting firewood and reduce the smoke that fills their kitchens.
The initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of rural communities, particularly women and children, by reducing indoor air pollution and related health problems. It will also promote sustainable living and cleaner energy use, supporting deforestation efforts and environmental conservation.
